Just under 13.3 hands and stocky in build, this mare is good sized with good weight carrying ability. The thing that sets this mare apart from other Icelandics is her temperament. She is super sweet, responsive without being timid, and very compliant.

Svala is very friendly and obedient in nature. She enjoys spending time with her person. Her training is coming along well and she shows alot of promise as an "anyong can ride" mare. I expect her to become an excellent trail horse for advanced and beginner riders alike. Her legs are solid with good bone, her hooves are hard and go barefoot well. She has a natural tolt and trot and canters easily.

She was started at Icelandic Horse Farm, then was used as a horse for beginners at Iceland West Farm. She then had a year and a half off as a broodmare and had a lovely blue dun foal with excellent gait. Then she came to Utah to join our family. We rode her regularliy for a while before breeding her to the legend stallion, Pá fra Laugarvatni. This produced the very promising palomino colt, Strákur, which we also have listed for sale. Once Strákur is weaned, we will start riding Svala regularliy again. She's a very cute mare!
