About Us

Draumur Icelandics is owned and operated by my husband and I, Randy and Carolyn Nielsen. I have been breeding Missouri Foxtrotting Horses for many years and have more recently taken an interest in Icelandics after experiencing the breed via a couple different friends. I have found the breed very endearing, and wonderfully fun. I currently am the proud owner of two beautiful mares and one very promising colt. I have loved horses all of my life and do much of my own training, using Natural Horsemanship techniques (mostly Pat Parelli and Clinton Anderson).

I grew up in Las Vegas, NV. My main interests other than my horses, include saddle making, sewing, art and music. I am also a realtor here in the Salt Lake Valley and beyond. I love all animals and share my life with a variety, including horses, dogs, cats, salt water fish, and various species of birds. I will never be without my animals, who make my life so much richer!
