Home About Us Horses For Sale Contact Us		Welcome to Draumur Icelandics! We are home to three very special Icelandics. Two of them are mares which we bought for our own enjoyment, not as a business. However, we did have one colt in May 2007. Our ranch is nestled in the mountains of Herriman, Utah - just south of Salt Lake City. In short, the Icelandic Horse is a very old, pure breed from Iceland. They range between 12-14 hands in height. These horses aren't tall, but are very stocky and strong. They aren't considered ponies because they can carry weight just like their larger counterparts. They are naturally gaited horses. Icelandics also have strong hooves and don't require a lot of feed for maintenance. They are good natured, levelheaded, survivalist horses that like to go down the trail at a good pace.
